On November 30, 2012 — Mets third baseman David Wright agrees to an eight-year, $138 million contract, the richest deal in franchise history. The 29 year-old six-time All-Star is the team’s all-time leader in hits, doubles, extra-base hits, walks, RBIs, and runs scored.

Wright, who seemed Cooperstown bound will get injured a year later and never play a full season again. He is still the franchise leader in most (17) career categories.
