Boston Red Sox slugger  Vaughn wins the 1995 American League Most Valuable Player award, taking 12 first-place votes edged Cleveland’s Belle in the BBWAA voting, 308-301. The Red Sox first baseman,(.300, 39, 126) becomes the eighth player in franchise history to win the prestigious prize.
