Nap Lajoie despite 8-8 can not dethrone Ty Cobb

On October 9, 1910, Napoleon Lajoie, the player-manager of the Cleveland Naps, goes 8-8 with six bogus hits on the last day thanks to St. Louis third baseman Red Corriden who plays back while Lajoie bunts safely six times in their attempt to dethrone the Georgia Peach with their defensive indifference. Ty Cobb had decided to sit out the last two games of the season. Ty Cobb ends up winning the third of his nine consecutive batting titles by a fractional margin of Ty Cobb wins the third of his nine consecutive batting titles, .3849 to .3840.
