New York Mets obtain Al Leiter from the Florida Marlins in exchange for A.J. Burnett 

On February 6 1998 — The New York Mets obtain pitcher Al Leiter and minor leaguer Ralph Milliard from the Florida Marlins in exchange for pitcher A.J. Burnett and two minor leaguers, Jesus Sanchez and Rob Stratton.

A.J. Burnett will go on to have a 17 years career winning 134 games, including his best season in 2009 with the New York Yankees helping them win a World Series title.  Al Leiter  already a two time World Series winner will win 95 games for the Mets and pitch the best baseball of his career, helping them to the World Series in 2000, the Mets will lose but he pitched extremely well in two starts vs the Yankees.
