I look up and see the ball, and I try to just punch at it with one hand.’ He got just enough of it to drive it into the ground in front of the plate and bounce it so high thatĀ Orlando CepedaĀ had to wait helplessly for it to come down as the run scored and Clemente fled across the base. Clemente laughed in reminiscence. ā€˜I don’t remember anybody try to quick-pitch me sinceĀ Don BessentĀ do it with Brooklyn. ā€˜I punch it for double.'ā€
