May 12, 1982 – At Royal Stadium, Milwaukee Brewers Paul Molitor hits 3 solo home runs, 2 off Dennis Leonard, including a leadoff home run, and his third off Dan Quisenberry in the 9th. But Milwaukee loses 9-7 to Kansas City as Hal McRae and Greg Pryor drive in three runs each.

Molitor will say, “I am not a home run hitter” he added,”I just happened to hit them where the wind was blowing. I never hit 3 in a game in the sandlot, little league, minor leagues or anywhere,” Molitor, describing the  4-for-5, three-home-run performance, “The first one was a fastball up,” he told the press. “In the fifth, I hit a pretty good pitch, slider down. The last one was a knuckleball up.”
