On February 6 2014 — former Rays closer Fernando Rodney has inked a two-year , fourteen million dollar contract with the Seattle Mariners.

Rodney will have one of the best years of his career year in 2014, leading the league and equaling his career high with 48 saves, posting and make is second All Star game, altough his 2.85 era fell short of his career best 0.60 in 2012 for the Rays.
