Rick Auerbach Born – February 15, 1950

Rick had an eleven year MLB career (1971-1981), playing for four different Organizations.

He came to the Reds in 1977 and played in 182 games in four seasons.

He played the position of Shortstop. There was another player on the team that also played that position, Dave Concepcion.
Rich didn’t get too many chances, but served the teams needs as a utility infielder and pinch-hitter.

While with the Reds he had 270 plate appearances with 57 hits and a .245 batting average.
