On September 29, 1913 — At Griffith Stadium, Washington Senators’ legend Walter Johnson beats the Philadelphia A’s, 1-0, to finish the season with 36 victories.

Weldon Wyckof, is the hard-luck loser dropping his record to 2-3. Chick Gandil drove in the only Senators run in the bottom of the 7th. Johnson gave up just hits, walked 1 and recorded 9 strikeouts.

The future Hall of Fame right-hander will toss a record 110 shutouts during his 21 seasons in the major leagues.
