On October 6, 1984 — Steve Garvey’s two-run homer in the bottom of the ninth inning gives the Padres a 7-5 walk-off win over the Cubs in Game 4 of NLCS. After losing the first two contests of the best-of-five NLCS, the victory brings the series to a decisive fifth game that San Diego will win to capture the National League pennant.
