White Sox pitcher Steve Stone tips his cap to the crowd after pitching 9.2 innings on July 31, 1977 in the first game of a doubleheader vs. the Kansas City Royals. The White Sox will win the game on a Chet Lemon walk-off home run in the bottom of the 10th inning after the Royals had gone ahead by a run in the top of the frame. Lerrin LaGrow will get the win in relief in the 5-4 victory
