February 17, 1958 – Left-handed outfielder Albie Pearson of the Senators won the annual Baseball Players’ golf tournament in a playoff, defeating John Gray of the Phillies. In a consolation match, Milwaukee Braves catcher Del Rice lost, two up, to Dodger Don Bessent, who won with the help of a hole in one.
