The Astros center fielder joins Cesar Cedeno (1972, 1976), Bob Watson (1977), Andujar Cedeno (1992), Jeff Bagwell (2001), Craig Biggio (2002), and Luke Scott (2006) when his eighth-inning double completes the historic accomplishment.
1994 â In one of the biggest player swaps in baseball history, the Astros send infielders Ken Caminiti, Andujar Cedeno and Roberto Petagine, outfielder Steve Finley and pitchers Brian Williams and Sean Fesh to San Diego for infielders Craig Shipley and Ricky Gutierrez, outfielders Derek Bell and Phil Plantier and pitchers Doug Brocail and Pedro Martinez. Itâs a thinly-disguised salary dump and, were it not for Bellâs success, would have been regarded as one of the worst trades in club history. 1991 â Pete Harnisch becomes the second Astro to strike out the side on nine pitches. It happens in the seventh inning of a 3-1 triumph over the Phillies. Harnisch scatters four hits while Jeff Bagwell and Andujar Cedeno go deep for all of Houstonâs runs.Â
1990 â Shortstop Andujar Cedeno is signed to a minor-league deal and placed on the Astrosâ 40-man roster, causing various national sportswires to misidentify him both as Cesar Cedeno and Joaquin Andujar. The 20-year-old fellow Dominican is not related to either former Astro.Â
