On September 2, 1960 — Ted Williams homers off Senator right-hander Don Lee in the eighth inning of the Red Sox’s 5-1 victory over Washington at Fenway Park. As a rookie in 1939, the Boston outfielder also went deep off Lee’s dad, Thornton.
