The 29 year-old fireballer, the author of an 18 strikeout game that tied a major league record, spent nine seasons with Houston, compiling a record of 104-92 along with an ERA of 3.15.
George Steinbrenner is honored with a 7-by-5-foot, 760-pound monument of bronze atop a granite base in Monument Park. The unveiling of the tribute to the recently deceased Yankee owner is attended by estranged former manager Joe Torre, who is making his first visit to the new Yankee Stadium.
