The Blue Jays acquire 3B Josh Donaldson from Oakland for four players

On November 28, 2014 — The Blue Jays continue to be one of the most active teams this off-season, as they acquire 3B Josh Donaldson from Oakland for four players – oft-injured 3B Brett Lawrie and prospects Kendall Graveman, Sean Nolin and Franklin Barreto, a talented minor league infielder.

The deal for the 28 year-old All-Star comes as a surprise because the Toronto third baseman was considered untouchable, in part for not being eligible for free agency until after the 2018 season.

Donaldson will win the 2015 AL MVP, come in 4th in 2016 and again garner MVP votes in 2017.
