On May 14, 1978, Dave Kingman of the Chicago Cubs hits three home runs, including a game-winning three-run blast in the 15th inning against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The game marks the second time in his career that “King Kong” has hit three homers and driven in eight runs in a game at Dodger Stadium. Tommy Lasorda gives a colorful interview after the game.

The Cubs hire future Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan to manage the team
On November 18, 1914 — The Chicago Cubs hire future Hall of Famer Roger Bresnahan to manage the team. The former St Louis Cardinal skipper will stay for just a year as Chicago finishes the season in fourth place with a 73-80 record.
He will not manage or play another game after the 1915 season.
On June 10, 1966 At Cleveland Stadium Sonny Siebert pitches a no-hitter against the Washington Senators and Leon Wagner homers off loser Phil Ortega as first-place Cleveland wins, 2 – 0.
