Watkins, who replaces Cookie Rojas when he was thumbed in the 5th, hits his first major league homer as well. Lowell Palmer strikes out nine in 4 1/3 innings for Philadelphia, while Nolan Ryan K’s 10 in 6 1/3 innings.
