On July 11, 1995The National League defeats the American League in the All-Star Game, 3 – 2, on an 8th inning pinch-hit home run by Jeff Conine. Conine becomes the 10th player to homer in his first All-Star at bat, and is named the game’s MVP. Frank Thomas, Craig Biggio and Mike Piazza also connect for home runs. Thomas becomes the first White Sox player ever to homer in the Mid-summer Classic as the NL out-homers the American League, 3 to 2.
