On November 16, 2012 — The Negro Leagues Baseball Museum announces the winners of its Legacy Awards, naming Mike Trout as its choice for the AL’s Oscar Charleston Award, recognizing the 20 year-old outfielder as league’s most valuable player. The Angels freshman is also the recipient of the Larry Doby Award, an honor given to the top rookie of each circuit.
