With Ron Oester on first base, Householder hits a shallow fly that LF Chris Smith loses in the sun and it bounces over his head. Smith then slips going after the ball and the two baserunners race around the bases. Oester slides across the plate just ahead of Householder’s slide, which is so close he spikes Oester’s knee.

2011 – Top Phillies OF prospect Domonic Brown breaks a hand in an exhibition game against the Pirates. Looking to succeed Jayson Werth as the Phils’ starting rightfielder, Brown had started the Grapefruit League season 0 for 15. Ironically, he singles in the at-bat that follows the injury, but then comes out of the game. He will require surgery and will miss Opening Day.

2015 – Dallas Keuchel wins his 20th game of the year in grand style. The lefty was supported by a club record 21 runs at Arizona. Carlos Correa sets a franchise rookie record with his 22nd homer of the season and he’s joined by George Springer, Colby Rasmus and Luis Valbuena with long balls in the 21-5 blowout. Houston would finish at 86-75 and earn the second AL wild card spot, their first postseason appearance in ten years.
