At Sportsman’s Park, Kansas City third baseman Jumbo Davis makes five errors in the team’s 10-3 loss to St. Louis. The 26 year-old Cowboys infielder will commit 100 errors in 628 chances, finishing the season with a .841 fielding percentage for the American Association club. On the day he is handed a three-game suspension for losing his cool with an umpire on June 4th, Jonathan Papelbon notches the 200th save of his career in Boston’s 6 – 4 win over the Yankees. He has needed only 259 appearances to reach the milestone, beating Mariano Rivera, who had been fastest, doing it in 382 games.
