Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, and John Smoltz pitch on same day

On August 27, 2005, Tom Glavine, Greg Maddux, and John Smoltz, former teammates and aces for the Atlanta Braves for several years, all pitch on the same day for the first time. Glavine toes the rubber for the New York Mets, losing 2-1 in San Francisco; Maddux, pitching for the Cubs, loses by the same score to the Marlins in Wrigley Field; and Smoltz, still with the Braves, earns a 8-4 victory over the Brewers in Milwaukee. While with the Braves from 1993-2002, the trio won 439 games and helped Atlanta to ten consecutive division titles.
