Val Heim, who appeared in 13 games in left field for the Pale Hose in 1942 passed away yesterday, November 21, 2019 of natural causes at the age of 99. At the time of his death he was the oldest living former Major League ballplayer. Val would enter the Navy after the 1942 season during WWII and never made it back to the big leagues, playing 2 more seasons in the White Sox farm system.

Due to his death, former White Sox first baseman Eddie Robinson assumes the title of oldest living former MLB player at the age of 98.
