Warren Spahn wins his first game as a member of the San Francisco Giants

On August 8, 1965, Warren Spahn wins his first game as a member of the San Francisco Giants. The New York Mets had released Spahn earlier in the season.

The visiting Spahn beats St Louis 6-4, and Mays, MCCovey and Ally all homer to support the one time foe. It is 361st career win, he will go 3-4 with the Giants and retire after the season. The 44 year old will be elected into the hall of fame 5 years later as the winningest Left Handed Pitcher of All Time.
