Whitey Herzog’s All-time AL Team

Whitey Herzog played eight seasons in the American League with the Senators, Athletics, Yankees, Orioles and Tigers from 1956-63. He gained much greater notoriety as a manger. He is the winningest manager in Royals history, guiding the team to a 410-304 (.574) record in five seasons from 1975-79. Herzog’s Kansas City teams won three consecutive AL West titles from 1976-78. Herzog also managed the Cardinals to three World Series appearances (1982, 1985, 1987) and was general manager of the Angels for short time in the early 1990s.
