Frank Howard ties the American League record for most home runs (7) in a four-game stretch

On May 16, 1968 — With his third two-homer game in four games, Senators LF Frank Howard ties the American League record for most home runs (7) in a four-game stretch (at least one in each). Washington wins, 4 – 1, at Cleveland.

Overall, “Hondo” has his third game (in the last four) where he hits at least 2 HR in a game. Howard drives in all four of his team’s runs as the Senators beat “Sudden Sam” McDowell and the Cleveland Indians.
