On July 31, 1912 — 1912 – A day after the Braves went 14 innings to beat St. Louis, they go 19 innings with the Pirates. Lefty Otto Hess goes all the way for Boston. The Pirates score three in the 19th, and the Braves come back with 2, losing, 7 – 6. Honus Wagner, who earlier stole home, drives in the final run for Pittsburgh. Wagner, at 38, is the oldest player in the National League.
