On July 27, 1914 —  Red Sox ace Dutch Leonard shuts out Cleveland, 3 – 0,  Tris Speaker is the star on offense, he has two singles and a triple going 3-3 with 2 RBI’s. Speaker also makes eight putouts in CF, on his way to a record 423 for the year. In later years Leonard, Speaker, Cobb and Joe Wood would face allegations about fixing games.
