Babe Ruth is thrown out of the game for the fifth time of the year

On August 30, 1922 — At the Polo Grounds, after hitting home run number 28 in the 1st inning, Babe Ruth argues too strongly over a called strike in his next at bat in the 3rd inning, and he is thrown out of the game by home plate umpire, Tommy Connolly. He’ll be suspended for the fifth time of the year, and is out for three days.

The Yankees beat the Senators 5-4 behind Waite Hoyt, who improves to 14-10. Frank Brower takes Hoyt deep twice, and Aaron Ward drives in 2 for the Bombers.
