On December 28 , 1952 — Ray Knight is born in Albany, GA. He will live there until he is Drafted by the Cincinnati Reds in the 10th round of the 1970 MLB June Amateur Draft from Dougherty HS (Albany, GA). He will eventually make it to the big leagues in for a cup of coffee in 1974, then he would become the everyday third baseman for the red’s sub planting Pete Rose by 1979.

He will find lasting fame in the 1986 World Series with the Mets. Scoring the winning run in game 6 and capturing the Series MVP.
