On August 10, 1959 —  Ken Boyer of the St. Louis Cardinals begins a 29-game hitting streak, the longest since Stan Musial’s 30 games in 1950. It doesn’t help though as the San Francisco  Giants score three in the 9th to win, 3 – 2.
