It is Fergie Jenkins’ 5th 1 – 0 loss of the season, which ties a major league record. Despite the loss,  The Canadian-born hurler will finish the season with a 20-15 record, his second consecutive season with 20 starts, he but is 20-6 in games in which his team scores a run and made a total of 40 starts for the Cubs a modern day franchise record, that he will top next season with 42.
