On November 26, 1993, the last surviving member of the St. Louis Cardinals “Gashouse Gang” passes away. 83-year old Burgess Whitehead dies from a heart attack in Windsor, North Carolina. Whitehead served as a backup for the 1934 World Champions.

The slick-fielding, hard-hitting Clark leaves the San Francisco Giants after eight seasons in the Bay Area. Clark, who batted .283 with 73 RBIs for the Giants, will raise his average to .329 with the Rangers in 1994
