On August 21 1937 –Jimmie Foxx led off the bottom of the second inning with a homer off Jimmy DeShong that cleared the left field wall and the street behind Fenway Park. It was the only run that the Red Sox scored in four innings as the Senators were winning, 5-1, when umpire George Moriarty called the game due to a torrential downpour.
