Rios only needs 6 innings to complete his feat, and then leaves way for Engel Beltre with Texas already ahead, 11 – 0. For the Astros, it is loss number 106, one shy of the franchise record.

September 23, 2013

1949 – Washington’s Dick Weik should change his name to Walk as he hands out 13 bases on balls in nine innings‚ losing to the White Sox‚ 3 – 0. He matches Tommy Byrne’s largesse earlier in the year and he’ll close out his career in 1954 with more walks than innings pitched. Randy Gumpert is the winner today as both pitchers allow 4 hits apiece.
