Bob Lemon beats the A’s in extra innings at Shibe Park – Full Broadcast

 

 

On June 11, 1950, Bob Lemon goes 9.2 innings to beat the A’s at Shibe Park in 10, 6-3.

Al Rosen and Jim Hegan connected for Homeruns in the tenth to give the Indians a 6-3 lead. The pair drove in 5 of the 6 Indian’s runs on the day. Lemon, got into trouble in the bottom of 10th, the A’s had loaded the bases on 2 hits and a walk. Al Benton came into SCHEIB pinch-hitting for Bobby Schantz and he induced a comebacker to seal the victory over the A’s.
