On September 25, 1954, the Cleveland Indians set an American League record for most wins in a season. With an 11-1 demolition of the Detroit Tigers, the Indians earn their 111th victory. Early Wynn fires the two-hitter, for his league-leading 23rd win as the Indians 111th victory is a new American League record eclipsing the 110 wins of the 1927 Yankees.
