On September 8, 2012 — Darwin Barney sets the National League record for consecutive errorless games by a second baseman with 124, surpassing Ryne Sandberg, another Cub infielder, who played his consecutive errorless streak at second between the 1989 and 1990 seasons. The major league mark for consecutive errorless games at second base is 186, established by Tiger infielder Placido Polanco from 2006-08.
