June 4, 1984, At Tiger Stadium Dave Bergman hits a walk-off 3 run home run vs the Toronto Blue Jays. The second-place Jays entered play just 4.5 behind the Tigers with ace Dave Stieb on the mound. Up 3-0 in the 7th, Howard Johnson hit a one-out 3 run homerun to tie the game.  Willie Hernandez will then get out of Lloyd Moseby at third with no outs jam to preserve the tie.

Roy Lee Jackson gives up the bomb to Bergman after he had fouled 7 pitches off Roy Lee Jackson before connecting. The 4 and a half games is the closest any team will come to the Tigers as they will finish the season with a 15 game lead.
