On June 18, 1988 The Los Angeles Dodgers sign a really skinny 16-year-old pitcher as a free agent out of the Dominican Republic named Pedro Martinez. The teams manager Tommy Lasorda incorrectly feels he will never be able to pitch as a starter and trades away the future hall of famer.

Martínez will go on to be one of the most spectacular starters in Major League Baseball history and put up the second best era+ in the history of the game.
