Edd Roush hits a grand slam‚ off Rube Marquard

On March 21, 1988 — 1988 – Edd Roush dies in Bradenton, Florida, at the age of 94. A two-time National League batting champion and a .323 hitter over an 18-year career, Roush entered the Hall of Fame in 1962.

August 19, 1918 – At Redland Field Cincinnati Reds outfielder Edd Roush hits a grand slam‚ off Rube Marquard in the 7th‚ to lead the Reds to an 8-4 win over visiting Brooklyn. Roush drives in 5 of the 8 Red’s runs. Pete Schneider picks up the win and improves to (9-15), Marquard drops to (9-15). the win pushes the Red’s a game above 500.
