Feeney assumes command of the National League.

On January 1, 1970, Charles “Chub” Feeney begins his 16-year presidency of the National League. Feeney succeeds Hall of Famer Warren Giles, who had served as National League President for 18 years. Feeney, A Dartmouth College graduate, the grandson of Charles Stoneham, the late owner of the Giants, once served as the team’s batboy.
