On February 29, 1940, the First National Bank of Chicago tries to force Grace Comiskey to sell the White Sox in the aftermath of the death of Louis Comiskey. A local judge rules against the bank, allowing Mrs. Comiskey to can keep the club for their 14-year-old son, Charles II, until he is 35.
