On August 6, 1972, Hank Aaron of the Atlanta Braves breaks Babe Ruth’s record for the most home runs with one team. The Braves’ veteran slugger hits his 660th and 661st home runs to eclipse Ruth’s record. The latter home run gives the Braves a 4-3 win over the Reds in the 10 innings at Riverfront Stadium.
