On December 30, 1925 — In a trade of pitchers, the New York Giants send Jack Bentley and Wayland Dean to the Philadelphia Phillies for Jimmy Ring. Bentley will return to the Giants during the 1926 season.

Philadelphia’s new pitchers will combine to post an 0-3 record for their new team, while Ring compiles a mediocre 11-10 mark for New York, before being included in an off-season blockbuster trade along with Frankie Frisch that brings Rogers Hornsby from St. Louis to the Big Apple for one season.
