Jose Canseco hits 400 home run 

On April 14, 1999 –Tampa Bay slugger Jose Canseco became the 28th player in major league history to reach the 400-homer mark when he lined Kelvim Escobar’s pitch 368 feet over the left-field wall in the third inning. Born in Cuba, Canseco is the first player born outside the United States to hit 400 homers. “If I wasn’t injured so much in my career I would be looking at 500 home runs right now,” said a subdued Canseco, who has averaged 121 games per season during his 15-year. Canseco also added, “I will need 500 to reach the Hall of Fame.”
