On June 12, 2007, Justin Verlander completes a no-hitter against the Milwaukee Brewers at Comerica Park in Detroit. Hitting 100 mph on the radar gun in the 9th inning, he shuts down the Brewers with 12 strikeouts, walking four. Magglio Ordonez makes a sliding catch on a shot by Corey Hart in the 7th to keep hope alive and later catches the final out of the contest. Bill Hall is never retired despite batting three times against Verlander, drawing walks every time up.

 

It’s the 6th no-hitter in Detroit Tiger History and the first no-hitter by a Tiger pitcher since April 7, 1984 when Jack Morris beat the White Sox 4-0, and the first of Comerica Park. Verlander strikes out 12 and walks four in his gem. The victory vaults Detroit into a tie for the AL Central lead with Cleveland.

Virgil Trucks (2), Jim Bunning 1958, and George Mullin pitched the other no-hitters for the Tigers.
