Mets left-hander Tom Glavine won his 300th career game

On August 5, 2007, At Wrigley Field, Mets left-hander Tom Glavine becomes the 23rd player in major league history to win his 300th victory, Defeating the Chicago Cubs 8-3. Glavine, the twenty-third pitcher, and fifth southpaw to reach the 300-victory level, pitched 6 1/3 innings to win his 10th of the year against 6 losses and helps his cause with a single, walk, and RBI. Kerry Wood appears for the Cubs, his first major league appearance in over a year.

Glavine becomes the first 300-game winner since former teammate Greg Maddux in 2004.

The Offense did their part as the Mets bang out 16 hits and beat Chicago in a nationally televised ESPN Sunday night game.
