November 10, 1934 Norm Cash was born in  in Justiceburg, Garza County, Texas

Nicknamed Stormin’ Norman, he played almost his entire career with the Detroit Tigers. Cash was an All-Star in 4 seasons, won a batting title in 1961, and was a member of the 1968 World Series champion Tigers. In his 17-year career (1958-1974), Cash had 1820 hits, 377 HR, 1104 RBI, 1043 BB, .271 BA, .374 OBP, .488 Slg., & .862 OPS. Cash passed away in 1986 at the age of 52. In October 1986, Cash drowned in an accident off Beaver Island in northern Lake Michigan when he slipped off a dock and struck his head. His body was discovered about 11 a.m. in 15 feet of water at Beaver Island. An autopsy later revealed that Cash had a blood alcohol content of 0.18 percent at the time of his death.nHe is buried in Pine Lake Cemetery, West Bloomfield, Michigan.
